Can I be Hypnotized Against my Will? 

It is now commonly accepted that all hypnosis is really self-hypnosis. When you follow the instructions of a hypnotist you will actually be hypnotizing yourself. Despite what you may have seen in the movies and TV, you cannot be hypnotized against your will.

Your hypnotist or hypnotherapist is a highly trained and qualified hypnosis professional. He or she is a certified and/or registered hypnotherapist who knows how to guide you into hypnosis using hypnotic inductions and deepeners, and then carries a series of tests to ensure you have reached the level of hypnosis required to effect the change you want.
